My Child Has a Gluten Intolerance!

The unknown can make things even scarier, so when you find out that a family member has a health condition that neither you or your partner has – it can be quite daunting.

This is what can happen when you find out that your child has an intolerance to gluten. What can you do, what can’t they eat? How do you stop them from eating gluten when you are not around? All questions that can make everything seem very hand.

Well, since gluten is found in wheat, you will want to cut all wheat based foods from your child’s diet. To make things easier, you may wish to switch your whole family to a gluten free diet – as this will make sure the intolerant child will not feel like the odd one out.

A couple of other quick tips are:

- Pack a gluten free lunch box when you head out.
- Keep people informed so they can help
- Don’t isolate your child that has the intolerance.
